Nirmal’s, a must try Indian restaurant in downtown Seattle!

November 26, 2017

Nirmal’s is a must try Indian restaurant in downtown Seattle and definitely qualifies to be one of my favorite restaurant serving Indian food. This place is the closest to being authentic Indian food in the downtown Seattle area.

The first time, the wait was excruciatingly painful and kind of disorganized. Probably because it was super crowded and we had no reservations. However, our anger melted when we ate their Manglorian Fish fry, Lamb Seekh Kebab, Murgh Reshami kebab, Chicken biryani and then Ras Malai, Chikoo ice-cream! OMG absolutely melted like their chikoo ice-cream 😀

Nirmal’s is located in Pioneer Square on Occidental Avenue. This place was a railway station and now hosts this amazing restaurant. Their decor is pretty indo-western and I absolutely love the painting of Lord Ganesha at the entrance.

The speciality of this restaurant is that their menu changes every month according to the different Indian States. The first time we went, they had Banglorian month going on and then Maharashtra, Punjab etc.

The owners of the restaurant are stars. Oliver takes care of the business and his wife is a VP at Washington University. They are pretty cool people who love to talk to their customers, interact with them and express their passion for what they do.

This time when we went, I made a reservation to avoid the long wait and they instantly attended us. We started with Samosas, Lamb seekh kebab, Bharwaan Simla Mirch, Dhingri Mutter.

Their Ice-creams are my favourites. Chikoo ice-cream, Guava ice-cream, Ginger-turmeric ice-cream. Ginger-turmeric Ice -cream was an absolute shocker and winner. This unique recipe is a vegan dish in which they use coconut milk. Oliver makes these ice-creams from scratch and they have great demand among customers!
